Groombridge, Wu, Baughman & Stone LLP announced today the promotion of Allison Penfield and Philip May to counsel, effective January 1, 2025.

Allison has represented major patent clients in jury trials in federal district court, in administrative proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and appellate proceedings. Her practice also includes pro bono representation in matters related to family law, immigration, and reproductive rights. She was recently recognized as a future leader in patent litigation in the 2024 Lawdragon 500 X – The Next Generation list.
Philip has represented clients at all stages of high-stakes patent litigation, from pre-litigation through appeal, including both jury and bench trials as well as evidentiary hearings at the U.S. International Trade Commission. He clerked for Judge Joseph E. Irenas and Judge Robert B. Kugler of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey as well as Judge Henry F. Floyd of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Philip was named to the 2024 Lawdragon 500 X – The Next Generation list and was awarded High Honors on the 2023 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll for his outstanding commitment to pro bono service.
