Steve is a leading practitioner nationally in handling post-grant trials before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He served as counsel for four of the PTAB’s first-day filings, including the first post-grant trial to reach a final decision, which Managing IP previously named a “Milestone Case of the Year.” Over his first four and a half years of trials at the PTAB, Steve amassed a 47-0 record in final written decisions on behalf of challengers, while also defending key patents for patent owners, and to date he has been counsel of record in more than 200 PTAB trials.
